Summer 2012
Students from around the world met in Salzburg, Austria, for a three-week program that focused on the media’s role in global issues. Students attended classes on global media literacy and global change, cooperation and news.

As a full-time working journalist I was responsible for going out on shoots in the morning and then returning to the newsroom to write my script and edit on deadline. Tuesday through Thursday the CNS team puts on Maryland Newsline, a half hour newscast to showcase our work.

Students interested in broadcast journalism were given the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of television reporting by writing stories, filming, editing, and producing a high-definition newscast. I worked as the producer for the newscast and also wrote, interviewed, filmed and edited a package.
