Congratulations Colts Neck Class of 2012

Faculty, family, and friends filled the bleachers of the Colts Neck High School football field to watch the Cougars of the class of 2012 graduate on this past scorching hot Wednesday, June 20th.

The ceremony began with the humorous salutatory address given by Kevin Bazer followed by the Valedictorian speech of Katelyn Villany.  The theme of both speeches was looking back on the past four years while looking forward to the future.

“I’m sure we are a bit uneasy about leaving the place that has been our second home over the past four years, but we’re all excited” Villany said, “I have made friendships here that will last me a lifetime and I want to thank you for the impact you’ve had on me.”

Principal Keith Land was proud to announce that of the 334 graduates, 93 percent will be attending a two or four-year college or university this fall including NYU, Villanova, Cornell, and Boston College.  Almost nine million dollars in scholarship money has been rewarded to the class.

Four of these grads will also be entering the military: two into the Marines, one into the Army, and one into the Air Force.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of diplomas by Carl Accettola, Board of Education representative, the turning of tassels, and of course, the traditional cap toss.
