JOURNALISM EXPERIENCES
News 12 New Jersey                                           Summer 2013

As an intern in the editing department, I edited VOs, SOTs, and teases on deadline for live broadcasts.  I also worked in the satelite room, ingesting live feeds from the tri-state area as well as worked on the news trucks following both editors, photogs, and reporters.

Rockville 11                                                 Fall 2012- Present
I started as an intern and was later hired as a Production Assistant.  I have the opportunity to go out on shoots, write and record scripts, and edit clips for both television and online.  I also manage social media to reach out to the community about breaking news and upcoming events.

Salzburg Academy on Media and Global Change                  Summer 2012
Students from around the world met in Salzburg, Austria, for a three-week program that focused on the media’s role in global issues.  Students attended classes on global media literacy and global change, cooperation and news.

Fill in for local editors to cover news stories and special events in central New Jersey.

Society of Professional Journalists                          Fall 2011- Present
An active member in the Maryland branch of the organization.

CNS-TV/ UMTV Maryland Newsline                               September 2010- Present
Maryland Newsline is a half-hour newscast put together by students Tuesday through Thursday during the fall and spring semesters that serves the University of Maryland campus and Prince George’s County.  As a volunteer, I work with high-definition cameras, control the teleprompter, and work with computer graphics for the newscast.

I volunteer to write stories for this monthly on-campus magazine

Quinnipiac University Television News Institute              Summer 2009
Students interested in broadcast journalism were given the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of television reporting by writing stories, filming, editing, and producing a high-definition newscast.  I worked as the producer for the newscast and also wrote, interviewed, filmed and edited a package.

I am proficient in using Final Cut Pro to edit video clips into cohesive news stories as well as Photoshop for editing photos for print and online publishing.  I also have experience using Illustrator, Avid, and Dreamweaver.
